In 2017, Paul Bird was appointed ambassador to the Down's Syndrome Association and during the year organised for a number of guests to attend BSB meetings as VIP guests of PBM and to see the operation of the multiple championship winning Be Wiser Ducati Team from close quarters.
As well as being immensely proud of his association with his chosen charity, with his appointment comes great responsibility not only as a public face for the cause but also as a fundraiser enabling the charity to help people with Down's Syndrome live full and rewarding lives.
As such PBM have joined forces with Friends of Force who will be hosting the 9th Annual Rail Industry Electrical Engineers Dinner Dance on Friday 11th May 2018 at the Ashford International Hotel in Kent.
Team Owner Paul Bird will be in attendance accompanied by six times and defending British Superbike Championship title holder Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne who will speaking as a special guest. The dinner dance has, over the past nine years, raised just over £117,000 for their regular charities and 50% of the profits from this year’s event will be donated to the Down's Syndrome Association.
In addition, following last year’s inaugural success whereby £2000 was raised despite selling out of tickets, PBM are again running a raffle in 2018 to raise funds for DSA. Some very unique prizes are being accumulated, including a signed Marc Marquez replica crash helmet donated by Feridax, as well as some fantastic other prizes yet to be donated.
PBM prize raffle in support of Down’s Syndrome Association is now available via this link. A full list of raffle prizes are listed, and the raffle will run from the opening BSB round at Donington Park over Easter until it is drawn at round nine of the British Superbike Championship at Silverstone on September 9th, 2018.
