For 2024, runner-up in the BSB series for the past two seasons, Glenn Irwin remains with the team which is now located near Preston and looks to land a tenth crown, this time in the hands of joint team bosses, Jordan and Frank Bird.

In recent years, PBM has added numerous BSB titles via Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne, Scott Redding and Josh Brookes, a Rider’s Cup crown thanks to Stuart Easton and a host of NW200 and Macau GP successes courtesy of Glenn Irwin. In 2024, Tommy Bridewell edged out PBM teammate Glenn Irwin by just half a point to land a ninth crown for PBM in one of the most dramatic BSB title races ever.

The Ulsterman continues his second spell with the PBM team having made his BSB debut on the Be Wiser Ducati in 2016 scoring two podiums on his way to 12th in the final standings as teammate to BSB legend Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne who won the title.

Irwin went on to claim his first BSB win the following year at Silverstone on the team’s Be Wiser Ducati on his way to a top twelve finish again whilst starting a remarkable run of Superbike victories at the North West 200. He also took the win at the Macau Grand Prix for PBM.

However, 2018 was when Glenn announced himself as a major contender for the BSB title. Again, with PBM Ducati power, a win and six further podiums propelled him to third in the overall standings as well as two more Superbike wins at the NW200.

A difficult year with Kawasaki followed in 2019 before a resurgent Irwin ended up fourth for Honda in the Covid-hit season of 2020. Staying with Honda, Glenn struggled to eighth in 2021 due to injury before claiming his runner-up spot in 2022. Having won most races of anyone in 2023, Glenn was favourite for the title but missed out by an agonising half a point in the final race of the 2023 season.

Remarkably, Irwin has won the last eight Superbike races at the International NW200 and as well as his BSB commitments this season, he hopes to beat the record of nine Superbike victories at the meeting shared by the late Joey Dunlop and Michael Rutter.
