Back with a bang!

Back on the podium

After a couple of challenging rounds at Cadwell Park and Thruxton, Scott Redding and the Hager PBM Racing Team returned to championship contention in style at Assen, The Netherlands, over the weekend.

In the first of the three Showdown rounds, the team delivered a commanding performance, taking victory on day one in dominant fashion. It marked the team’s first win since Brands Hatch, while Scott also set the fastest lap to secure pole position for Sunday’s Sprint Race.

Scott went on to make it a double victory at the TT Circuit Assen in a dramatic second race of the weekend. Getting a strong start, he immediately hit the front of the pack ahead of Ryan Vickers, Bradley Ray and Kyle Ryde. With rain beginning to fall in the closing stages, the race was red-flagged with two laps remaining, confirming Scott at the top of the podium and securing another valuable 25 points towards his championship tally.

In the final race of the weekend at the ‘Cathedral of Speed’, the result went right down to the wire in a thrilling final-lap battle between Scott, Kyle Ryde and Bradley Ray.

Scott made his move down the inside at the Chicane and briefly edged ahead of Ryde, but as he powered out, the rear tyre stepped out. He managed to save the bike from a crash but lost drive in the process, ultimately crossing the line in third to complete the weekend with another podium.

The championship now returns to home soil on 2-4 October for Round 10 at Donington Park.
